The Gallery - Sky

This weeks theme for the Gallery is 'Sky'.

This picture was taken a few years ago in mine and the other halfs 'special place'. It is one of the most beautiful places that I have been to in this country.
We haven't been back there since the kiddies have been born and now that we live on the other side of the country I don't think we'll be getting back there anythime soon. *sob sob* Oh well we will just have to find a new special place and at least we have some good pictures to remember it.

On another note sorry about the serious lack of posts the last couple of weeks, I've been going out a lot with the little ones to try and keep them entertained during the holidays, roll on September.

Beautiful Blogger Award

We've had so many visitors to our house in the last couple of weeks, that I'm struggling to find the time for my blog. However I am slowly getting around to the meme's that I've been tagged in.

Todays meme is The Beautiful Blogger Award. I was tagged for this by the lovely Pippa, that I had the pleasure of meeting in person last month. Her blog is called A Mothers Ramblings and is a great read, so check it out.

The rules for this meme are as follows...

1. Thank the person who gave it to you and link back to their blog
2. Tell seven facts about yourself
3. Nominate seven people for the award and let them know why

So here goes with my 7 facts about me...

1) I have a Diploma in Indian Head Massage.

2) I'm a bit of a hippy at heart and have learnt how to build houses out of straw bales and clay.

3) I was in Mr Bean when I was a child. You know the one at the swimming pool and the little blonde girl fishes his trunks out of the pool. Yes that was me lol.

4) I use to live in a cabin at the bottom of my parents garden and I loved it.

5) I regularly use my Tarot cards to help me make desicions about my life.

6) I use to play Basketball for South East England.

7) I have moved house more times than my age.

I am going to tag these 7 people in this meme

I look forward to reading your 7 facts about you x

Follow a Newbie Friday

This week I've come across two new blogs that I've enjoyed reading.

The first is Psychology mum
This is a great blog that combines parenting and psychology. I've already used some of her techniques with my son and they seem to be working for him, so far (touch wood). Definatley worth a read.

The second is Misty
A young mum who writes about her life all coming together, including moving home and settling in. A self confessed chataholic.

I hope you have time to check out these two great blogs.
To check out other peoples choices for this week go to From Slummy to Yummy Mummy
Hope you all have a good weekend. x

Packing, packing and more packing!

Been lost in a bit of a packing frenzy the last couple of days.
I really freaked out the other morning when I looked at my calendar and realised that we only have 2 and a bit weeks till we move and up until that point I hadn't packed a single box. So that is all I have been doing since then.
I have moved house more times than my age and it still never gets any easier, you think I'd be a dab hand at it by now.
Of course it doesn't help that while you are trying to get organised and leave the house in a fit state for the landlady to make sure you get your deposit back, your son suddenly takes a dislike to the curtains and curtain pole in the dinning room and rips them both off the wall!! But not just content with one room he then does exactly the same in his sisters room. Arrgh cross was not the word.
We have been in this house for 6 months and they haven't damaged a single thing, so why 2 weeks before we move does he do that?

On Saturday I did laugh at the other half though, he decided to have an afternoon nap on the sofa, never a wise idea with two little ones around, you could end up with all sorts of things shoved up your nose. Anyway why he was snoozing I was packing and I got really into it and manged to pack every ornament, picture and decorative item that we have in the house. So when he woke up the entire house was bare. Think he found it quite surreal, he went to sleep with everything normal and woke up to an empty house. That'll teach him for laughing at my cake lol. (See previous post).

Well better get back to it.

Super Mummy

Superman

Today I was Super Mummy (well at least I felt like it.)
I have had a hugely productive day.

Here are some of the things I have got done today...

I visited and filled out all the necessary forms for H 's new pre school.
I filled out all the forms for H's free child care entitlements that start in April.
I brought my nephew's birthday card and present and wrapped it.
I ordered flowers to be delivered to my mum for mothers day.
I cooked the kids a healthy and filling lunch.
I donated a load of the kiddies old clothes to charity, trying to clear out before the move.
I brought and posted a birthday card for the other half's Nan.
I got people to sponsor H in his easter raffle for pre school,
I ordered H's special dairy free easter eggs. Having one child with a dairy intolerance means Easter is a nightmare in our household!
I spent the afternoon playing with the kids in the garden.
I even baked my first ever Victoria Sponge, although it would be wrong to call it a sponge and a more appropirate name for it would be Victoria Rock.
You should know at this point that up to about 4 months ago I had NEVER cooked anything before in my life. Bascically a mix of having a partner that's a qualified chef and living in a pub with our own chef for the last 2 years has meant I've not had to learn. Bad I know, but I'm making up f
or it now... well trying to.
I was quite proud of my sponge until the other half came home, took one look at it and burst out laughing. Not the reaction I was going for.
Now don't laugh but here's a pic

So that was my day, probably doesn't look like much to anyone else but to me it was good.

Nervous Energy

I constantly seem to have that nervous feeling at the moment, you know that feeling in your stomach a bit like butterflys before giving a big speech. I know it's because of moving again and all the up-heaval that that entails.

It's H i'm worried about the most, with his need for routine. He's already showing signs of nervousness.
I compare his behaviour to how a dog starts behaving just before you go on holiday, when it knows that something is happening but not quite sure what and they start doing weird things like running round in circles. Well H isn't quite running round in circles but he is doing weird things. For example when I dropped him off at pre school the other day he wouldn't let go of my leg and started screaming 'Don't leave me mummy'. That was horrible and I felt awful about it for the rest of the day. He has never done that before and has always loved going to school.
His general behaviour has also gone from bad to worse, he screams at me, pushes me and throws himself on the floor at any opportunity. Couple that with trying to pack our house, sell our old car, buy a new one and arrange moving vans etc the stress levels in our house at present are really high.
I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end though, as the house is ideal for us.

Phil is stressed to the max because not only is he trying to work but also make sure that this moves goes as smoothly as possible (If moving house can ever be a smooth process.)

Lj is the only one in our household that seems quite content just doing what she's doing, toddling around without a care in the world. As long as you feed her and give her a quick cuddle every now and again she's quite happy. Oh how nice that must be.

Boxes, boxes and more boxes!

Looks like we might be moving again!
We have only been in this house for 6 months but I have found the house of our dreams. A lovely cottage with exposed beams and open fireplaces and a spare bedroom for guests, fab!

Just the thought of having to pack all over again fills me with dread but luckily we still haven't unpacked half our stuff from the last move so this time it should be easier, (We'll see about that). Also this house is only just down the road instead of 200 or so miles away.
The kids, no doubt, will be about as much help as they were last time, (unpacking the boxes as I was packing them) and screaming at me if I try to pack any of their toys. Oh joy!

Last time we moved they looked like this...

and now they look like this...

They change so quickly, blink and you miss it.

I'm going to have packing a house down to a fine art by the time we settle somewhere.
Let the packing begin.
